Doctor of Ministry, Interdisciplinary Studies
The Doctor of Ministry Interdisciplinary Studies program is intended for students who desire to personally customize their program curriculum with a focus on specific ministry skills in a variety of specialized areas tailored for their unique ministry context.
Students may choose any specialization seminar based on alignment with their ministry goals and desire to learn from faculty who are accomplished scholars and practitioners in their respective fields of discipline.
Being a lifelong learner should be a high priority for every pastor who wants to grow personally and stay relevant in ministry. The Doctor of Ministry degree is an advanced professional degree program designed for the continuing development of those involved in pastoral ministry.
This program is designed to enhance professional competence by expanding upon an initial foundation of theological studies and ministry experience, to enable those in vocational ministry to enhance current strengths, address areas of weakness, and increase overall effectiveness. All core seminars are online and have no in person, on campus requirements. All online seminar content is delivered asynchronously, though professors may offer limited live, real-time interactions. For concentration seminars, students may choose EITHER a Hybrid or Online seminar from any DMIN concentration EACH semester (a total of 12 hours is required). “On Campus” (Hybrid) doctoral seminars have three course components: pre-class, in-class, and post-class requirements. (1) Three months prior to the first day of in-class attendance, course syllabi are made available for students to complete pre-class assignments. (2) Students then attend in-class campus seminars for 4 days (8am-5pm, Monday-Thursday). (3) Following in-class sessions, students have up to 3 months to complete post-class assignments.
